General
I must admit that I just love belly casts!! Seeing that big, round
belly preserved forever is so cool. Here at ProudBody, we want to
make the belly casting process easy for you so that you can just
focus on the fun of making a belly cast. Yes, it's messy, but it's
worth it for the 3D keepsake you will make. When I made my belly
casts when I was pregnant, it was such a memorable experience to
have a tangible reminder of how my body had changed during pregnancy.
Now, after my pregnancies, I cherish each of my belly casts and
recall the special time I shared together with my children before
their births. Every time I walk past my belly casts, I can't help
but smile!
Everyone always asks me how my belly casts are decorated. It took
me a long time to decide how I wanted them decorated. They were
designed and painted by Annie Stathes, a local Denver artist. Needless
to say, I am thrilled with the results.
The first one is the Japanese character for "Love" and it is a
belly cast I did at 25 weeks of pregnancy. The second is a Celtic
cross and it is a belly cast I did at 30 weeks of pregnancy (my
husband is Irish and hence the Irish names for my son and daughter)
and the last two belly casts were both done at 35 weeks of pregnancy.
One of them is from my pregnancy with Cian and the other from my
pregnancy with Cuinn. I definitely was bigger with Cuinn and she
was bigger when born! These two belly casts were decorated as two
panels to be displayed together as an Asian landscape. The characters
on them are for Winter and Spring, the seasons in which my children
were born. These are thumbnail pictures so click on them if you
want to see larger versions.

Product Development
Since the beginnings of our company in 2001, we have listened to our customers regarding additional products they would like to see developed by our company. Just like our belly cast kit, each product was thoroughly tested and each project had to be easy to do. If I couldn't do it myself, then I wouldn't sell it!
In the Spring of 2006, we launched our complete Pregnancy Art line of products. In addition to our first product, the pregnancy belly cast kit, we added a pregnancy henna art kit, pregnancy belly painting kit, TUMMY TATTs (temporary belly tattoos) and belly art t-shirts to our Pregnancy Art product line.
In January 2007, we launched our ProudBaby line of products. Again, each product in our new line had to be easy-to-use and fail-proof. If I couldn't make the prints easily, then I wouldn't sell it! Our ProudBaby line consists of clay keepsake impression kits for new parents to capture their child's little fingerprints and footprints in minutes. With an almost 6-year old and 3-year old, I know how quickly those little fingers and toes grow and I wanted to provide an easy way for parents to capture those special prints to treasure forever.
In July 2007, we made the switch from Vaseline® to a specially formulated all natural lubricant in our pregnancy belly cast kit. We had used Vaseline in our kits for years as we found it provided the best barrier between mom’s skin and the casting material and it is a trusted name in providing safe, high-quality skin-care products.
Over time, we received requests from customers wanting an all-natural lubricant and we listened! Unable to find a product on the market that provided the same amount of barrier protection to mom’s skin as Vaseline, we had a lubricant especially made just for us: Belly Rub. Our all-natural Belly Rub lubricant provides an excellent barrier between mom’s skin and the casting material so the belly cast is easy to remove from mom’s skin after it has dried. Plus, our Belly Rub is body and earth-friendly. Belly Rub is easily washed from mom’s skin once her belly cast has been removed or she can allow it absorb into her skin. It is so much easier to remove than messy Vaseline but it provides the same excellent barrier protection!
